Good Lorde! Shooting the Deck the Halls Ball in Seattle
I had the good fortune to photograph 107.7 The Ends’ “Deck the Halls Ball” this week in Seattle. This was only my second music festival of the year following Bumbershoot at Seattle Center. “The End” prides itself on being alternative and non-mainstream pop and is popular with the local teen to early 20’s crowd. The day consisted of eight bands in six hours with 16 photographers in the pit all trying to get the shot. The bands performing were: Chvrches, Alt J, Arctic Monkeys, The Head and the Heart, Foals, Lorde, Phoenix and headliner Vampire Weekend. Backstage, it was like a scene out of “Almost Famous” with bands hanging out, chatting, bringing their families around. Notably up and comer, Lorde, who’s smash hit “Royals,” could be found walking around with her mom taking in all the different music. Good times, great music and awesome performances!
